No media scan

No media scan

After rebooting the phone I find myself having no music at all nor images or videos. Looking into the folders I've seen the files are still there and I tried to reboot the phone again but nothing changed. I tried doing a media scan through a scan app but nothing changed. Not even external music players can find any file.

I tried deleting media storage cache, too.

Is there any way to have Walkman and Album see my files again? All the music files are mp3s and images are jpg. Maybe the problem could have started when yesterday I put a JPG (written in caps lock) image in the phone via computer and it didn't see it.

Also, I'm not using any sim now and I can't use one at the moment because I only have an old sim which isn't micro. Can this cause problems?

So your media is still not visible? In this case, you may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

You can try this: setting-apps-all-media storage, force stop and clear data. Restart. It might take some time to rescan whole media files.

Boot in safe mode, there could be an app blocking the scan:
