How to connect my phone to my car audio system?

I tried to connect my phone to my car audio system with the usb cable but it seems not to work.

Any other idea?

I suspect that your car doesn't support "MTP" which the phones internal memory uses as USB connection mode. Try inserting a memory card (microSD) if you don't have one and then set the USB connection mode to MSC under Settings -> Xperia -> USB Connectivity -> USB Connection mode. You car should then be able to access the files stored on the microSD and then phone should be able to charge.
