Apps "Show notifications" self-reseting

Greetings.

I recently bought a new E4, treating myself, having ditched my very old Galaxy. I have installed all the apps' I usually use, removed some of the dodgy ones I don't. :smileysmileythumbsup:

My issue is that, in 'Settings' => 'Device' => Apps (then select App), I can switch off (un-check) the "Show Notifications" check-box, but that this choice doesn't hold.

For reasons I haven't yet figured out, my phone dives from 31% battery to flat withing a couple of hours - even where I can get good reception - but this is not the issue I write about.

My issue is that whenever the phone is switched off, restarted, or dies of battery, all the apps 'Show notifications' check box resets back to (default) 'on'. It's really annoying to have to go through the apps one-by-one each time and re-set those I don't care that much about.  (For instance, being woken at 3am just because my village is being raided).

My old Galaxy knew I was in control and never argued with me - it was the village idiot of smartphones though, dumber than a bucket of spit - running a v2.x Android sys.

Thanks in advance

Hi Christofer

The biggest pain is Clash of Clans.Seems now it's the only pain. If that is so, I can happily live with that.

I rather think I might be crying wolf though as I have found it is the only app (at a glance) which is still doing this. I feel certain File Commander (constantly asking me to get the paid versdion) and Facebook (telling me someone needs to get a friend) also used to re-set. I have been fiddling a lot, so, I might have fixed it myself, but they certainly didn't reset today on either a complete battery rundown nor a restart.

But, I guess it's possible I have been complaining about only one app (Clash of Clans). If that is the case, it is then likely the issue is with the app, not the phone, though still annoying.

For this reason, I will tag this thread as 'solved'.

Do you have any power save set to start at a lower battery percentage?

Hi Alexdon

Thanks for the tip. Sadly, STAMINA mode, Ultra STAMINA mode and Low-Battery mode are all OFF

Having looked at thier operations however, I will consider using these functions in the future as long as they don't hinder capability.

Thanks again.

Can you boot in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs below a battery level?

Hi @Albian,

Could you give some examples of any possible pre-installed apps that reverts back to the default setting for notifications when your phone is turned off and on again?
