Downloading video from Cybershot DSC W570

Hi

I have downloaded some video onto my laptop and it has created 3 files -

.modd

.moff

.THM

I cannot open any of them using windows media player, Quicktime or windows live movie maker and they are also not showing in PMB. I am runnong Windows 7.

Any ideas whats may be wrong?

Hello Joanne - Welcome to the Sony Forums

These three types of files have the following purposes:

.modd - This file usually carries information about the video that has been recorded.

.moff - This is used by PMB to create an index of video files so again this file is information only.

.thm - This file usually carries some preview information so that software can show a small thumbnail.

Can you not see any other files that contain the video such as .m2ts, .avi or anything else? If you see any other file types, let me know here and I can advise you where to find the actual video. It can be frustrating when this happens, but it may help to open your camera's memory card in Windows Explorer and look at the video folder on there.
