Sony TV, HDMI2 and Wifi

I have a 49XF9005. It is connected to my router by wifi which generally works well. I also have a Panasonic PVR (a few years old) connected to the TV's HDMI2 slot. During the last few evenings, when watching a recording from the PVR, the router has disconnected from the internet and reconnected three or four times within a couple of hours but is normally stable.

Is it possible for the PVR/HDMI2 slot to cause that sort of behaviour or is it just a weird coincidence?

I believe that was indeed a coincidence since the HDMI port doesn't affect Internet connectivity. But it doesn't hurt to make sure that both of them are updated to the latest software/firmware version since these kind of glitches are usually caused by outdated software.
