Recently bought this sound system as a Christmas gift so not set it up yet, but can anyone please reassure me that it doesn't depend upon connection to a separate amplifier as well as the TV?

Hi    ALL sound bars have their own amplifier built in. Is this case it has 5.1 channel 400W amplifier. It just needs an audio source, like a TV. You will find the full specifications and manuals here
