Problem writing and reading DVD's on my GRT816S after installing SP2

My Laptop is a GRT816S I've had it for near a year. never had this problem until installing SP2.

My DVD drive isn't able to read dvd that I've burn previously think its got something to do with sp2 went to the viao update site and apprently you should update drives before installing sp2 but my Pc was set on automaticly since then my DVD drives not working.

Please help as suggestions will be helpful I notice quite alot of people are having this problem but can't find the solutions.

Is there anyway of getting my DVD working with out reformatting my laptop and installing drivers before SP2?
