I hope this will be resolve soon.  I cant use my SD card due to recent update.  I already formatted my SD card but still having the same issue.  There's even a time wherein I cant open my phone, what I did is removed my sd card, so I can use my phone again.

I just want to chime in and say that I am experiencing the same problem.  My Xperia XA will not recognize my SD card.  If I restart the phone, it will recognize it for a short period of time, then it won't recognize it anymore.  I was getting messages that the SD card was corrupt, so I removed the card and copied the data over to my computer, then reformatted the SD card in the phone.  I tried to copy the data back to the SD card by connecting the phone to my computer, but it the phone wouldn't let me transfer the data.  I removed the card and copied by data back to it through the computer.  That didn't work and the problem remains.

I hope there's a fix for it too.  I got this phone because I believed in Sony and wanted something different from everyone else.  C'mon Sony!  Don't let me down!

There is no release date for the fixed 33.2.A.3.74 update. Either hang tight and wait it's obviously being worked on as its been pulled from Sony servers or if you know how to use flashtool you'll have to flash a 33.2.A.2.93 ftf wiping the device. They've been on the ball so far with updates.

>>>>>>> Do you guys have any update on this? I just cant go with the master reset, this is just unacceptable

You don't need to do a master reset at all, just reboot the phone to let it find an SD-card correctly and you have a short perid of time when you may go to preferences --- applications and try to move all SD-card located applications to internal storage, so you will use your SD-card only for media storing, hope this let you use your phone without any problems or errors for the period that Sony will give us a new update that will fix this nasty issue.

You must understand that using the flashtool can cause warranty void, so check up your warranty or ask your Sony dealer or shop where your phone has been bought.

Yes, the 32.2.B.3.81 update solves that problem and your phone doesn't jejct an SD-card anymore, but the issue when you cannot move some apps to your SD-card from internal storage still exists. For me and my phone these apps are: AnTuTu 3D Bench (over 72MB) and Waze Navigator (over 90MB). When I'm going to change storage menu it let me choose an SD-card and starts the process of moving the app but in several seconds shows an error - not enough free space... Yepp, it cannot move big apps to SD-card. That's sad, cause big apps I want to move to SD-card first of all...
