Hi everyone,
I've recently bought a pair of WI-1000XM2 headphones and the sound out of the right ear is much fainter than in the left. I'm primarily using it with a Google Pixel 4 although the same thing happens when I connect to a Dell laptop for Teams and also an old iPhone 5s.
I've tried going through the steps advised by the Sony help desk:
1-Connect the headphones to a different compatible device and check if the issue remains.
2-Make sure that the headphones are connected to a compatible device using the link below:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wi-1000xm2
3-Reset the headphone following the steps in the link below:
https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wi1000xm2/v1/en/contents/TP0002402823.html
4-Make sure that the headphones are running the latest software version following the link below:
https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wi-1000xm2/downl...
5-Initialize the headphone following the steps in the link below:

As none of the steps seem to work, I am just about to send it back for repair, but just wanted to double-check in case any members of the community had any thoughts?
Thanks for any help you can share.
All bests,
Simon
You seem to have tried everything possible. Normally I'd try different devices then go for the reset/initialization, but you've already tried all of that.
I'd go for a repair at this point since it seems to be the driver itself not working up to spec.
Hope this helps!

Hi JD, thanks ever so much for coming back to me on this, very much appreciated! I'll send it off for repair and keep you posted. Thanks again and bests, S
It's my pleasure!
Staying tuned for some good news once the repair is done ^^

Hi Joe, just a quick note to let you (all) know that I sent the headphones off for repair and received a new pair back within a couple of weeks (they were under guarantee). Not 100% sure what the problem was, but the new pair work well. Thanks again for your help! Cheers, S
