I bought my pair of Sony wh-1000xm3 back in February 2019 so I've had them for just over 3 years. Everything was working great until this weekend.
All of a sudden, the right earpod has this very distorted and much louder sound compared to the left one. The left one sound as it should be, but the right one is all wrong.
I figured out it's an issue with the noise cancelling as when I turn off noise cancelling & ambient sound control completely, the headphones work correctly and the sound is fine. But then effectively I have headphones with no active noise cancelling at all.
I checked the settings in the Sony app and there is no changes in my iphone / ipad settings.
No damage (at least visible on the outside, no idea about wires inside) to the headphones or there were no impacts.
So I wanted to check if this is some issue that can be fixed or have my headphones essentially broken down when it comes to noise cancelling.
Hi, since it was working fine before have you tried resetting it to the factory settings? if it keeps on doing this after the reset then you might wanna contact Sony themselves.
