Hi, on a newly built Windows 10 Desktop PC, Music Centre is giving Failure to import from cd Error code -1 on CD import. I don't get the error on an older Windows 10 laptop. Any ideas? At moment I am having to use Windows Media Player to rip the cd and then import into Music Centre.
Hi AndyK61, what are you using it with? I mean the model number of the device
Hey AndyK61, are you sure about the model of the Walkman?
Hi, in Settings - Unit Settings it says NW-A30Series on the back it says NW-A35
Incidentally, Music Center version is 2.5.0
Regards
Andy
Hey there,
Why don't you check this link, maybe the information in it would help you: https://bit.ly/3KwZRjg
Hope it helps.
Hi, thanks but sorry it didn't help. I have already reviewed the Sony documentation including the FAQ's and Jow to Use sections but they did not provide any solution. The error occurs almost as soon as you click the Import button.
Hey AndyK61, these info will tell you if you're using a compatible OS, which one are you using BTW?
I suddenly had this exact same problem today. No changes to my Win10 system in my case (but presumably some Windows Updates may have gone through in recent days).
Exactly as you describe. Music Centre happily recognises the CD I am trying to play/import and shows the correct label and track listing. Instantly gives the same error message as you describe as soon as I hit Import button.
I recall this happening once before and I'm just wondering if there is some invisible quirk on the CD (its an old one I dug out to have a listen to but visually in perfect condition). Last time I think it eventually imported it when I tried a day or so later!! Not very scientific....
P.S. Andy
I should add my CD plays perfectly through the Sony MC.
But won't import like yours.
