Garmin DriveSmart Compatibility with Sony MEX-N5300BT

Has anyone managed to connect their Garmin DriveSmart using Bluetooth to their Sony MEX-N5300BT so that the directions from Garmin are heard over the vehicles speakers?

What kind of issues are you facing?

Maybe the BT profile of the Garmin isn't supported by the car stereo.
