Hi does anyone know how to reduce the fan speeds and presumably the fan noise.? I have to play music to lose the sound of mine. I have looked at bios and whilst this tells me the speed there is no opportunity to manage the speed.
Thanks in advance
I don't think there is a way of manually adjusting the fan speed.
You can look at software like SpeedFan but I'don't think it will work.
However the fans run at a speed designed to safely control the temperature of the CPU and more importantly the NVIDIA® GeForce® 9300M GS GPU. Check your vents are clear and think twice about allowing the GPU to overheat as this has caused historic problems.
It is an unfortunate development that PCs and in particular laptops generate more and more heat.
You can check the internal temperatures using PC Wizard.
Hello!, Sony made a driver to control the "Noisy" Power Supply Fan Speed which has the fan at the booting time. I you do not install that drive, you will have that high speed. So, go to your Sony Applications Recovery Disc number one and search for the Drivers file, inside of that file must be another file called "CPUFanControl" open it and install the driver. Restart your computer and after booting you will have the reduction of the speed required
Good Luck
