Turn on without opening lid?!

At home I connect my Vaio FW51JF to an external keyboard and monitor for more comfortable use, but I still have to open the notebook's lid to turn it on. I don't suppose there is a way to turn it on without opening, is there?

Hi AndyZed and welcome.

If the Vaio is completely shut down I can't think of a way of starting it without pressing the power button. This is the only thing your Vaio monitors when in the shutdown state.

You can configure it to wake from Sleep Mode with an external stimulus but not from a full shutdown.
