Slow boot up problem and fail box error

Hi all

I have vaio VGN-FS315E running Windows XP home service pack 3, the last couple of weeks it has been taking about 10 minutes to boot up and then an error box which just says fail appears, the only fault I can find in error logs says system start driver failed to load penclass, as I have had a wacom graphic pad on this laptop I thought if I downloaded new driver for it the fault would go but having done this the fault is still on laptop

any ideas, suggestions would be welcome please
