Extended Warranty on Vaio options

I have just bought a Vaio NW series from Carphone Warehouse, they could not give any information on Extended Warranties. I understand you can purchase an extra 2 years for £130ish or 1 year for around half. Do you have so long after the laptop purchase date to buy this or can you wait till near the end of the first 12 months before deciding. Is the helpline a premium number? I have tried to find this information on the site but have been unable to do so.

Sony offer a VAIO 1 year (PCGE-VPW1) or 2-year (PCGE-VPW2) Extension Warranty Pack which Provides an additional 1-year service coverage to the standard warranty on your VAIO Laptop and as far as I am aware has to be purchased and registered within 1 year of your VAIO purchase.
