I have been supplied with a replacement battery (non Sony) for the above and get the following box come up:-
"Caution.
The installed battery may not be properly connected to the computer or may not be compatible with the computer.
Click Ok to enter hibernate mode and remove and reinsert battery.
See the electronic VAIO (R) user guide for more information about using the battery."
It should be noted that this box only pops up when I start using the internet (may be co-incidental) and the charging light flashes rapidly. When off/hibernate, the charging light flashes correctly and charges the battery.
Any advice appreciated.
Regards... Andy.
Hi Andy,
Sometimes stopping ISBMgr.exe from running automatically at startup can help.
This turns off the Sony battery monitoring.
Thank you for your quick response.
As I'm a duffer with this type of thing, could you be so kind as to point me in the direction of said ISBMgr.exe. I've tried looking but, to no avail.
Regards... Andy.
Hi Andy,
Start -> type into the run box 'MSCONFIG' and OK.
Click on the STARTUP Tab and look at the programs that run at boot. If you can find ISBMgr then uncheck the box to the left -> Apply -> OK and restart your computer.
Much appreciated, thank you.
I have had the battery in for over a day now with no problems.
Again, many thanks.
Regards... Andy.
