I just got my mini pro last Friday and it was great. Then I saw the forums over the weekend about the electrostatic noise and realized mine was making an even louder noise than the rest of the people. Had my unit replaced yesterday and now the noise is minimal. Even the issue I had with menus closing on their own is gone (screen issue I guess). The thing I noticed now with my new unit is that the bottom part with the keyboard is a bit loose connected to the top screen part. Like whenever I type using the screen it sometimes creeks or moves. But this doesn't always happen. Sometimes it doesn't creek, sometimes it does. My first unit was pretty solid and didn't move at all. Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a factory defect? I'm okay with it mostly because this unit was better than my last one.

Your options aren't something I can give you exact information one, but here is what I have:
1) You can always go through us directly, however the processes vary by region so I can't say exactly how we would work with you in your country. You can always call and ask how phones get serviced or replaced.
2) Seeing as you got it so recently, obviously the store/operator is another option, but again I can't say what they offer (if anything). Since you got it replaced once, my FEELING is that it might just be easier to head back there.
Firstly, the noise during video should be fully resolved in the coming 2.3.4 updates around the end of the month and early next month.
I use the Xperia mini pro as my current phone for work (in white :smileywink:) and I have to say there isn't any creeking or movement (maybe less then a quarter of a millimeter). I'm really rough on my phones also, and I've had this one for a month.
I personally suggest you see if you can compare to a few others, maybe at the same or other shops in your area.
Hi Martha, it's good to hear that you prefer the Mini Pro and I totally agree with you in "Firstly, the noise during video should be fully resolved in the coming 2.3.4 updates around the end of the month and early next month."
So you also experience the static noise in the phone (I have to repeat we don't really care about the noise recorded in the video - the noise itself should totally disappear!)? Hope the software update will make it go away and we don't just get a insufficient noise reduction in the recorded videos... - fingers crossed...
thanks for the reply martha! it usually creeks sometimes only when i'm using the on screen keyboard and not the phyiscal keyboard. like a small creek. feels a bit loose sometimes. this makes the vibration rattle. if i compare it to others and mine isn't normal what are my options? i bought this phone on the 26th.

Thanks for the reply Martha. You've been a great help.
Please help me st15i issue also............................its been two weeks you guys ant answering the forum............
I also have the problem as stated above but in my country (Malaysia) we dont get refunds or change for a new phone... bummer*
At first my phone slide out keyboard was solid but I notice that the capacitive button stickers(?) are off from original spot
-I sent the phone to the SE centre and it took TWO weeks for them to repair!
-And making it worst, the upper part of the phone is not placed properly and now I can see an opening between the lower part and the upper part of the phone!
-The slide out keyboard also become loose and it creeks everytime a slightly larger force is placed on the screen which makes the phone feels like a cheap China phone
-I also notice that there are CRACKS on the side of my phone but I'm not sure if it is caused by the factory repairman
-This is a very dissapointing news as I have suggest this phone to a lot of my clients because of it's reasonable price and good specs but the build quality are unacceptable
yeah i aslo faced the loose minipro proeblm, when the message tone or ring tone was set at full volume, and i used to hear rattle sound when the mobile rings. and i gave to se care ppl .they made the problem more worse, they damaged the slide and now every time i open and close my slide two lines are formed on the keyboard and and some keys are littlw worn out .
i went again to sony reporting this problem they said its common and gave my mobile back.
its so dissapointing sony has very bad customer care.
most funny part about sony care.
when i reported them about the "cicada' problem they said its common and send me back.
