Yes, indeed. I honestly don't know why people post messages saying that they demand to know what's going on. They know what's going on. But, in case the original poster really wants to know, Sony Ericsson had hoped to get the update to 2.1 out from the end of September, but they need a bit more time to ensure that the update will go smoothly, and lots of people are upset about that. Chiefly because someone else's number will be bigger than thgeirs, I suspect - whether the Android version or the number of colours.
Was I disappointed that the upgrade has been delayed? Yes, to a small extent. Am I disappointed that I didn't download dodgy software that bricked my phone (as happened before with a different phone)? No, not really. I can live without that! Could SE have announced the change to the date earlier? Maybe, but who knows? Will my phone stop working because I have the same version of Android as I had yesterday? No, I strongly suspect not. I'm going to continue to enjoy it and leave my blood pressure at a safe level.
Oh for gods sake, enough of these posts, we've had 3-4 of them already, they aren't going to give you special treatment for using capital letters.
Yes it's delayed, yes it's a pain, but no the phone is not useless without Android 2.1, it's an improvement, nothing more, all the primary functions are performed fine on 1.6 to last us another month, bar the in-call volume which I will put up with coz it's not so quiet I can't hear anything.
I don't like waiting either, but I will wait and look forward to a "hopefully" bug free upgrade. But for now people, can we try and keep the football fan-esque outbursts down?
Hear, hear!
(to farmergiles65, that is!)
Heehee thanks Sushi. It just gets on my wick! The Facebook SE site is no different, everyone whining like 5 year olds. You even get people going on about 2.2 saying "your phone won't have 16m colours, we have to make do with 65000, rar rar rar. .........................OMG, I'm sorry but the number of colours, seriously is that what people look for on a phone! 65000 is a lot of colours, what the hell is 16m going to do? Priorities people! LOL!:smileysilly:

We're part of a small minority that sees the bigger picture and can look at things in perspective! We need more of those here!
I bought the phone knowing it would have 1.6 for a while, so if I thought at any point that 2.1 was essential I wouldn't have bought the dam phone! I researched important functionality, which funny enough is more important on a phone.
To be perfectly honest, I've been more looking forward to the Part 2 update to see how Timescape/Mediascape will improve than I have the 2.1 update,, now that's saying something!
Farmer Giles rocks! Nuff said.
+1,0000!
thanks for the answers
wow i feel better knowing that
i feel i can sleep tonight lol
I have to agree with most the posters here. I bought the phone knowing it would work in its current configuration. An update was a bonus. Really who needs 73.4 Billion colours anyway. Some of the other features i am looking forward to but its a bonus and im more than willing to wait. Its not a god given right to expect that it will be done. Let SE take their time to get it right. Its better than some of the other companies out there that will rush an incomplete product out just to gain market share even though its completely s#!t.
