My wife gave me her X-10 what can i say I picked the right woman to marry

Hi guys,

New to X 10

My wife gave me her x10  and I am trying to clear her stuff off the phone and set up mine .

have searched the forum topics and cant find a solution.

I am not really sure how far i have to go back and what i have to clear . but to start with I can't get the gmail to work because it has her email address and doesnt provide a set new account option etc.

I have been through the manage applications and cleared the data in everything to do with gmail or email but still when i click on gmail from app bar it shows her account.

Any advice would be really appreciated

Cheers

Dave

My main reason for you to do a software repair to wipe out the phone memory is that you have JUST GOT this phone. Most likely you have no idea whether it has the latest update. No point after doing a factory date reset plus personal settings/configuration, adding contacts .... etc, later to discover that phone is not having the latest update. UNLESS you enjoy doing all those tedious stuff (serve as practice? :smileymischief:) all over again AND there is also some risk that you might lose some stuff during the backup and restore process.  Anyway, it's your decision. Don't worry, Gingerbread won't be released so soon, therefore you won't lose timescape and camera functions.

You can do a software repair using either PC Companion or SE Update Service. Download any one of them from this link, http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/topic/updateyourproductsoftware/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en

This will wipe out all phone data, I assume that you do need any backup. Winking_Face

By the way, what did you give her in exchange? :smileymischief:

go to settings ----- >  Privacy Settings ----- > Factory data reset.

which wipes all the data and user data in the phone....

Try looking in Settings>SD Card & Phone Storage called Factory Data Reset if you are on 1.6

if you are up to date with 2.1 it is Settings>Privacy

This will reset the phone back to its factory state so will remove all apps, data and contacts, you need to make sure you have a Gmail account

for when the phone reboots, so if you dont have one go to google and set one up first
