My Nokia 6020 will not communicate with the PC. Nokia or Sony Ericsson software reports phone not connected.
I used the feature in the nokia to copy my contacts to the simcard. I have been totally unsuccessful in getting The S.E. software or the phone itself
to access the sim card

http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php PC Companion cannot access contacts from the SIM card but My Phone Explorer can do this if you connect the C510 to it.However, since the contacts are on the SIM card, you should be able to simply copy them onto the phone in the C510 without the need for any PC application.
Hope this helps.

Hi, you don't write which phone you have (SE) but if you have an Android based phone easiest should be to not go via SIM card.
1) Export your Nokia contacts to memory card
2) Install SE's PC Companion http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/mobilephones/downloads/subject/pccompanion/xperia-mini?cc=gb...
3) Start Contacts setup follow the instructions
More info also in here: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/mobilephones/learn-more/topic/transfercontacts?cc=gb&lc=en

Thank you for your reply. Firstly my new phone is a C510. You suggest that I copy the Nokia contacts onto a memory card. I was not aware that that
was an option with the Nokia 6020. Hence I copied the contacts on to the sim card. I downloaded the PC companion, however there are no options to access
the sim card. Since I can't connect the nokia to the pc this rules out the "old phone" connection option. Am I missing something?

Dr Chris I was impressed to say the least when PC Companion produced my list of contacts. I have bcked them up. I just have to find out how I can load them
into the memory of the SE C510. Many thanks and I intend to send a donation to PC companion people.

No worries. If you want to copy the contacts onto the phone memory using the phone only: Main menu--Contacts--(Highlight) New Contact--Options--Advanced--Copy from SIM.This is the easiest way to do this, rather than doing it via My Phone Explorer.
