I want to delete all the contacts. The method described in the manual doesn't work for me.
When I try Settings->Applications->Manage applications, I get the following error: "You do not have any third party apps installed".
X10 mini pro, running Android 2.1
Thanks in advance,
Solved! Go to Solution.
In Manage Applications, press Menu and Filter>All then it will give you the full list not just the installed ones (which you obviously don't have!) then scroll through to find Contacts Storage then clear data.
Try restarting the phone and try again.Otherwise, you can either run the SE update service or reset the phone.Just remember to back up any phone data that you still need.
Hi, you are still unable to delete all contacts as suggested by Suze, I think you should just do a Factory Data Reset.
Settings>Privacy>Factory data reset.
Just be aware that this will erase your phone memory completely (SD Card not affected). I guess you can forget about backup since there is no 3rd party apps and you don't intend to keep any contacts (unless you have other stuff that you need to keep).
Thanks a lot Suze, nice trick, didn't think about using filter. I can now delete all contacts.
But I still wonder why I have this issue. I have downloaded and installed new apps since then, not any third party but updates to pre installed apps (market and playnow). These ones do show in the application manager list without changing any filters.
It seems to me a problem/bug/issue filter. The options I have are all, running or downloaded. There should be, I guess, an "installed" options including pre installed, and it should probably be the default. Currently, the default seems to be downloaded (which seems to exclude any pre installed apps).
