Help upgrading to 2.1!!

I just received my X10A in the mail today...I went online and to Sony Ericsson's website and followed the instructions for upgrading to Android 2.1; downloaded PC companion...but it says my phone is 'up to date'.  I am still running on 1.6. I then You-Tubed instructions but holy crap....its really complicated...and i can't get it to work.  is there an easier way...or would someone be able to...how should i say...dummy-down some instructions for me? :smileygrin:

fantastic!! Thanks Uliwooly!!  Heard some buzz about smart click....do i really need that?  I downloaded the smartclick program....but it wont work...keeps looping..even after i disable/reable debugging.  just curious.  where can i buy you a cup of coffee for your help?? i really appreciate it!!!

not at all, most banks offer similar services with their own app

and stars/points are great don't worry about the coffee (I don't drink coffee anyway)
