I updated my AT&T X10 to 2.1 about a week ago. It was working fine but it started to get a bit sluggish, so I pulled the battery out and turned it back on. Now after it boots up, it says the Yahoo! Mail app has forced closed, along with the Spotify, My Tracks, eBay, and Timescape apps. Most of the Market apps now force close as soon as they're opened. Words With Friends, Angry Birds, Pandora, Soundhound, NASA, etc. all force close also. Even the Market force closes if I try to open an app's page, or go to "My Apps".
I hooked it up to PC Companion and it says everything is updated.

you can backup everything and then REPAIR your phone with Update Service or PCC even if it says that you have the latest software you can still reinstall it, just remember everything that you have on your phone will be deleted, passwords won't be backed up

you are running out of RAM and internal memory, check how much free space you still have in your phone
settings -> applications -> manage applications
the Update to 2.3 its around the corner, which will allow you to install Apps2SD
another thing, Yahoo mail and yahoo messenger are really heavy and they always give me problems, not just with the X10 but with the Arc
