Please enable VoLTE feature with Marshmallow update

In India, Reliance Jio is launching its commercial service in coming months, It will support only Voice over LET (VoLTE) and No 2G/3G voice services. Many phones recently launched in India do support  VoLTE feature and other manufacturers enabling this future with a software update. Xperia M4 Aqua has SD615 processor which inherently support VoLTE future, So please activate/enable this future with a software update.

Again new update form my side, though we can see VoLTE flag in *#8#4636#*#* settings its not editable and hence doesn't Enable/Diable VoLTE.

More ever going through the various topic and understanding the VoLTE concept, I belive Sony has not exposed Android APIs to enable VoLTE in M4 Aqua yet (all options and test go in vain as there is no solid proof that VoLTE is enabled) though snapdragon 615 chipset supports VoLTE.

Not sure what's need to be done here :S

I'm afraid that I do not know what has been communicated on a local market level, but I work globally; being based in the Nordic market and I can confirm that we in this market have support for more models than the ones listed by the agent you spoke to. 

I know that most high end devices past the Xperia Z2 model have support for the feature, but as I mentioned previously in this thread it is dependant on the market operators. As an example, in the Nordic market there is a specific operator which recently pushed the feature to the Z5-series running their branded software - while a different operator has not done so yet.

With this in mind, I can not confirm nor deny the statement given to you since as I mentioned above I am not aware of what has been communicated locally. For this reason, I kindly refer you to get in touch with your Local support as well as your operator for more information as to what you can expect in your local market regarding VoLTE.

I belive only in Europe this feature is enabled then as I am having M4 Aqua (E2306) from Amazon US unlocked and M5 Dual (E5663) unlocked from India and both doesn't have VoLTE (both on latest MarshMellow update).

I wanted to forward this request to Sony department but as per past experiance in India it will go in vain so instead if someone from Sony support here can forward this request to Sony India it will be helpful.

Are you really from SONY? Or SONY is in such condition that having you? VOLTE enabled phone can make voice calls without enabling mobile data. This m4 stamped as 4g,but unable to make calls without switchon mobile data. So either make it 4G VOLTE or get back your stamp of 4g on M4 aqua....

As I know only the latest Xperia device have voLTE features support.
Xperia M4 Aqua only have 4g LTE support.

Jio4GVoice app for the rescue......

My M4 aqua is a year old now, recently planted JIO sim in the cell and was facing same issues as been discussed here. However it turned out that using Jio4GVoice app I can make rich calls (voice and vidoe) to another JIO and normal calls to any other number.

Just download the app and change data usage setting to JIO in settings -> DUAL SIM. Launch the app and go ahead....

The app saved me blushes for the day, allthough I almost started hating SONY for the blunder.
