Sony STR-DN840 HDMI not auto switching

Hi,

I have the UK/European version of the Sony STR-DN840. It's a great receiver apart from the HDMI is not auto switching between connected devices and I have to use the remote to select the input.

For example:-

When I switch my set top box on, the TV, set-top box and STR-DN840 turn on, but no picture on the TV and the STR-DN840 says no stream. I have to turn the set-top box off then on again for the STR-DN840 to pick it up and switch to it.

Can anyone suggest a fix or what the settings should be or is this a design fault, which if it is, is pretty poor?

Hi Abielby,

There are some tips here for troubleshooting when the audio, video or both goes out when using an HDMI connection. Please take a look and see if they help.
