Sony CT290 no sound from Sub

help please before I bin this sound bar, this is my 2nd sound bar as the first developed the exact same fault after 8 months, and it was replaced under warranty, after 7 to 8 months it's happened again. Sound from Sub just stopped. Green light on, it's connected via Bluetooth to sound bar but no sound, carried out all the recomded resets, unplugged both the bar and sub but still so sound from Sub, bar is working fine . Are these designed to last just 8 months ?? (No longer under warranty )

Hi Morky,

 

If you have tried resetting the sound bar to factory settings and the subwoofer still doesn't produce any sound even on bass heavy content I'd say the only option left would be to have it repaired.

I too have had this issue and no help from Sony

 

It seems a number of people in US have experienced this also (look at Amazon.com, Sony US and BestBuy reviews).

 

Some are considering class action feeling the device needs to be recalled given the frequency of issue.

Hi Windyscot

 

I agree with @Win_88 here. Sometimes, a reset can resolve similar issues completely. Have you tried that?
