Ok I have got a new SMP-N100 and also a 1TB WD NAS which I have put a load of photos and music onto, the Sony will play these no problem. But my video files wont work, its displays "There is no playable file"
So I checked the NAS and its definately on there, even from another laptop can access it over the network.
Can anybody help why this might happen?
Type of file: Windows Media Player (.MP4)
Oh by the way im a newbie so dont be too techy please, thanks for taking a look.
Ok I have sussed it now, what you need to do is convert the video files to DIVX and they play. the only thing is now the audio is out of sync with the image. It looks like a news report by sattelite phone!!!
The device should cope with AVC/AVCHD files no problem. I think you'd be better converting to this if anything rather than divx, but ideally check if your camcorder can capture in avchd first. If its a recent ( last couple of years) Sony HD one, then it should be able to.
Thanks
