Hi. I have just purchaced a BDVE370 home cinema. I have connected my PS3 to my tv via HDMI cable and PS3 connected to the home cinema via optic cable but have no sound. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong please? Thanks!

Hi,
I've solved the problem........sort of. It seemed the HDMI cable connecting the BDV to the tv was cutting out the optical input. In order to have the PS3 connected to the BDV with surround sound I had to remove the HDMI linking the BDV to the tv and the optical suddenly kicks in then plug it back in to watch blu-rays so it seems to be either one or another ith regards to audio. Not an ideal set-up and I'm sure there has to be a better way but at least I'm up and running now.
Thanks for your input.
Have you changed the audio settings on your PS3 also?
Thanks
Thanks for responding........the PS3 audio out has remained on optical digital as I am just upgrading from an old home cinema where I had the same set up - namely HDMI into tv and optical from PS£ into the amplifier with no problems. Is it worth trying to do HDMI audio out from the PS3 into the tv and then optical out from the tv into the BDVE70 or will this just give a plain stereo signal as opposed to 5.1 sound? I'm not very clued up on these things!
Thanks again!
Do you have to change the input on the Amp when using PS3 or does it switch automatically, might be worth cycling through them just to see if its there already and just not automatically switching.
Might be worth buzzing the call centre when they open tomorrow to see if they have any sugggestions too?
Thanks
Hi,
Yeah I've gone through the sound settings but it doesn't have an option of selecting optical input as a source. On the input section of the menu on the amp it only shows options for TV, SAT/CABLE and AUDIO (AUDIO just showing a picture of red/white phono leads. Why is it not showing OPTICAL as an input source when it has an optical input socket? This seems to be the issue as I can't seem to select this as an option and it doesn't kick in automatically?
Cheers for your input.
