set up HT-G700 via Bluetooth, how do I mute tv volume  permanently so only using Sound bar volume via sky remote

I don’t know what you can do with the TV, as you don’t specify what make or model it is 😢

I always find the most satisfactory way of hooking up a soundbar is by HDMI to the (e)ARC input port on the TV, as this automatically mutes the TV when the soundbar is in use, and the TV volume control then seamlessly handles the volume on the soundbar.

Have you considered this option?

Hi Jrmrox, that depends on the TV model, if it's Sony post it here please. If not, you need to find out from the specs on your TV manual or contact its support.

From your saying, i concluded that both the TV speakers and the soundbar are working at the same time.

You can search your TV settings for anything that relates to speakers/headphones link, or audio system settings, make sure that audio system is the only active one.
