How can I get " Home Theatre Control " on HT-X8500 ?

Hi,

I can't get " Home Theatre Control " on HT-X8500 soundbar. When I select the Home Theatre Control option from the sound menu I'm not allowed to do anything this option is supported only for XF9000, Z9F and more but not for HT-X8500 ...

“Home Theatre Control” has been replaced by “Bravia Sync”. Make sure that you have enabled HDMI Control on both the soundbar and TV for Bravia Sync to work. Where have you seen this “this option is supported only for XF9000, Z9F and more but not for HT-X8500 ...”? The HT-X8500 should have exactly the same functions as the other sound bars you mention. See page 28 onwards from your manual.

I think ” Bravia Sync” and " Home Theatre Control "are not the same and they have different functionality . My “Bravia Sync” settings are enabled. I connected X8500 to my Sony XE9005 TV and found that option ” Home Theatre Control ” on the Settings/Sound menu.

I have just checked mine, the “Home Theatre Control” does everything the same as the “Bravia Sync” does controlling the audio system.
Quick check, you have connected the soundbar HDMI out to the TV’s HDMI 3 (ARC) socket. The HDMI connection is required for “Home Theatre Control”. Do not use an optical cable. 

Note I have a KD-55XE9305.
