Hello,
I saw on your website the page https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/csr_report/quality/management.html which seems to indicate that Sony would be ISO-9001 certified. That would indeed indicate engagement for continuous improvement, product quality and quality management system...
May I ask if this certification is still relevant and recently validated with a known auditor ?
Thank you all for your answers,

I'm not so sure why not all of the info is shared. I'll try passing this to one of my contacts at Sony and see what they'll say. Cheers,

Hi @EdwinaU , @The_Black_Rose,
Still now news about this ...? Thanks,
I really, really don't understand that there is not yet an obvious answer to this simple question...?!?

After some many time waiting for an answer to a so simple question, I'm afraid I have no other choice than to conclude that there is no suitable Quality Management and quality approach at SONY.
I read it on another forum and couldn't believe it, so I asked the question here.
Unfortunately with no answer. The support services also simply deny the question and refuse to further comment (which is, again, incompatible with a suitable ISO 9001 framework).
I am a professional working in the Services area, we are ISO 9001 compliant and we are proud of it, each of our customer interaction is governed with quality in mind. Such a behaviour would never be tolerated at our side.
I have been a SONY customer for more than 30 years, but now I will change my mind.
Other customers, be warned.
Hi Rob_67
I'm just curious if there's a particular reason for your question? Are you basing your use of Sony products on whether they can product an ISO certificate? Are you looking for this info for a different reason?

Hello Win_88,
Thank you for taking the time to answer this post.
To answer your question, it is not "just about a certificate", it is about a philosophy and a way to manage the customers. Basically ISO 9001 is about
- Taking continuous care of the customer
- Continuous improvement of the quality, especially in case of recurring problems
Each and every employee of an ISO 9001 certified company is supposed to be aware of the basic requirements of the Quality Management System and apply those basic principles everytime for the benefit of the customer and for the benefit of the company itself (win-win situation).
I have read on other SONY forums so many comments about unsatisfied users and complaining about recurring problems knowingly ignored, or ISO 9001 being ignored, and I thought that it would be so easy to get an answer here.
Unfortunately I am very disappointed to notice that there seem to be a general strategy at SONY to ignore those basic principles and refuse to communicate instead of openly looking for improvement. That's a pity IMHO.
Potential buyers should rather beware about the commercial strategy of a company before giving their trust (and money) to a product maker.
That would be my advice. I hope it can help others make their choice.
Hi Rob_67
I get where you're coming from now, however, I don't think asking on the community is all you can do. Maybe get in touch with Sony support and ask them directly to provide the information you need and provide feedback about not being able to acquire this info on the website as you should be able to.
Win_88
Hi @Win_88 ,
Your advice is correct and wise, thanks for mentioning it.
Unfortunately this has already been done multiple times... and neither SONY support nor the SONY moderators nor the responsible of communication at Sony Europe accept to communicate about this.
I have seen someone having the same problem as I do and sending over 10 messages which all were ignored or simply not read...quite a lack of respect IMHO.
Hi Rob,
I contacted Sony on your behalf and I received the response below:
Please be aware that certification according to ISO 9001 is voluntary only. Even if Sony has not required a global certification according to ISO 9001, Sony has its own corporate quality management system that is based on ISO 9001 and therefore supports a continuous improvement process and intensive care of the customer. Supporting this corporate policy, all sites manufacturing electronics are certified according to ISO 9001. For more information, you may refer to this webpage: https://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/csr_report/quality/
Hope this answers your question.

Hello @Joe_Dohn
Thanks for your answer.
This is indeed the same URL I was referring to.
Would you perhaps know which ISO 9001 auditor is used for the manufacturing of camera devices (HX models) ?
Best regards,
