Hi. I have just bought an Xperia E5 phone and have not had an Android phone before; my previous phones have been Windows phones. With my last phone, a Nokia Lumia 625, if I had mobile data turned off and received an MMS message I got a notification of the message with the comment "Media content in this message." I could then turn on mobile data and download the message.
With my new phone this is not happening and I get no notification whatsoever of the receipt of an MMS message. It's only if I switch mobile data back on that the message appears. I assume there is a setting somewhere that I can alter to make sure I get notification but, being new to Android phones, I haven't yet found it.
I'd be grateful, then, if someone could point me in the right direction. Many thanks in advance.

I am not sure about other manufacturers sorry. It applies to all of our current Xperia devices and we use basically stock Android. So I assume so, unless there's a specific customisation is applied that allows it.
Hi @JohnnyS,
Welcome to the community.
With this device you will need to have mobile data on in order to receive an MMS. It will not give you a notification if mobile data is disabled.
Thanks for your reply, CameronT. That's disappointing. Do you happen to know if that applies to all Android phones or not, please?

Thanks, anyway, CameronT.
No problem. Good luck!
Thanks, NeoBeum, that's useful to know.
