is it possible to download and playback full hd 1920 x1080 in imovie 08,  i have cyber shot hx9v,  thanks for any help,   rowley49

Hi rowley49, welcome to the Sony Forums.

There have been issues in the past with iMovie 08 and downloading from Sony AVCHD-capable cameras. A workaround is proposed by Apple here:

Although there's no specific mention of the HX9V, I'd imagine it's the AVCHD format, rather then the camera model, which is the pertinent issue.

Otherwise there's no reason why you should have any problems.
