HX20v not recognised via USB

I have a hx20v - not able to connect to W7 64bit computer via usb.
Tried all the things in the troubleshoot and advice online.
USB setting on camera, accept all devices in Windows...

Just nothing...
After having tried all the troubleshooting I'm beginning to suspect the cable, although it did charge OK from the mains with it.
Any ideas before it goes back to the shop?

Further experiment - tried connecting to my wife's Vista laptop.

Nothing... not recognised...

Kinda seems liek it might be the cable...

Hi, welcome to the Sony Forums

That does sound odd, but then USB cables do get damaged and they're the first thing I usually suggest you try changing with a connection error.

Let me know how you get on with that.
