Hello martyz - Welcome to the Sony Forums

I have taken a look at the image quality settings for this model (this will determine the file size for the photos that you take) and these are described in this page on the Cyber Shot user guide for this model:

http://www.sony-asia.com/microsite/cybershot_userguides/DSC-W630/eng/contents/04/02/05/05.html

It seems that for this model, there are a few options available ranging from 16 megapixels to 2 megapixels - you will find that reducing the picture quality accordingly will reduce the file size once you transfer it to your Mac. The image print information is a good rough guide to look at as well if you are considering getting physical prints done becuase often, for smaller size photos, there is no noticable difference between 16M and 10M for instance (not to my eyes anyway :smileyhappy:). It is only when zooming in that you would notice it but it is nice to have the flexibility to adjust the image quality depending upon what you want to do with the captured images.

Thanks,

Simon
