Camera says my GPS Asssist has expired, but I have just downloaded it

I got GPS Assist into my Cybershot DSC-HX9V camera last September. It expired of course. I downloaded it today and the camers still states that it expired last September. Without it the camera can take as long as several minutes to contact the satellites, which is too long for my puposes.

What I did today was to download assistme.dat from Sony's site on to my iMac and copy it to the correct place on the  camera's card (as instructed by Sony).

What can I do please?

Thanks.

Hi , welcome to the Sony Forums

You need to connect the camera to your Mac via the USB port.

When you power it up, three drives should mount. Click the one named 'PMB Portable Drive' and run the Mac version of the software - you don't need to install anything.

GPS Assist should update automatically.

Cheers
