Hi
I have had the A90K for a few weeks. I am using a high speed HDMI cable to connect the Sky+ HD box to the TV. When watching a recorded TV show from the Sky+ HD box the picture is excellent and the sound is very good until we get to a part where there is an action sequence such as an explosion, then the dialog can be heard perfectly when the action is going on. As soon as the scene returns to a normal sequence of events such as two people speaking the volume of the spoken words drops a lot, this goes on for a few seconds and then returns to normal. It's as if the TV boosts the speech in the action sequence but takes a few seconds to reset when the action ends.
I have the Sky box audio set to Dolby and the TV also set to Dolby digital. I have tried setting both to other settings but this does not improve the situation, it only makes the sound quality over all quieter. I have not noticed this on programs such as news or non action shows. Neither is it on the streaming channels.
Any advice would be appreciated as I'm at a loss now.
Thanks
Hi @Armin13
It must be time to enjoy 4K HDR with a Sky Q box 😀 The old Sky+HD boxes are really old now. What have you set your Advanced auto volume? It may be better to allow the sound volume for the Sky HDMI input to remain constant. You are feeding your 2022 TV with 2006 technology.
Hi Lightfoot, maybe one day we'll go for Sky Q. I checked the setting you mentioned and it was set to off. The only other option was auto so I have switched to that and will rewatch some offending programs either this evening or tomorrow and report back.
Thanks for taking the time to help
best wishes
