Hi,
i recently purchased a Sony 4K TV Model KD49X8005CBU. I also updated it to the new firmware. I am interested in HDR. Sony support confirmed the latest firmware update included HDR support.
I believe that HDR transfer requires the HDMI specification 2.0a.
Does anyone know if my TV has HDMI 2.0a ports?
Thank you.

Hi, me again. The chart is very useful but has raised a couple of questions for me.
A. Some of the higher models have 10 bit running of an 8 bit IPS display. Is my display capable of 10bit with a firmware upgrade?
B Under the HDR column mine is listed as limited? What does this mean compared to Full HDR?
Thanks again.

Hi
A - No, its 8 bit via panel, i dont think it is firmware
B - Limited is referring to the colour gamut, i believe (ie 8 bit) so goes hand in hand with each other.
A good link to explain things are:

At the end of the day, th X8005 is a good 4K TV, but is priced at the budget end. So there will be differences to the high end of Sonys range, in terms of hardware, features and price.
Cheers
