UBP-X700 Home Screen and menus blurry on 4K tv

The Home Screen and menus etc on my new UBP-X700 Blu-ray player are not sharp and crisp like I would have expected for a 4K device. It looks awful and fuzzy like it’s upscaled a lot.

The X700 appears to play a 4K Blu-ray at 2160p on my LG C2 OLED correctly. However, pressing a button on the x700 remote while the disk is playing brings up a really nasty looking fuzzy menu. Like it is superimposing a low-res menu on top.

i have another Sony device plugged into the same TV… an HT-A9 sound system. When I view the Home Screen on that and go through the menus, it is all pin sharp. I can’t understand why this Blu-ray player is not the same level of sharpness.

Are the X700 menus and Home Screen meant to look this bad?

Hey Flipmartian, could you share pics from both menus, so we can see it?

Also, are you using a high-speed HDMI cable? Did you try restarting everything?
