Adding speakers

i have just bought a new house. it came with a sony TV and saoundbar. The soundbar is not compatible with any sony wireless speakers. The last owner has speaker wires thourhgout the house. How/what do I connect these to create rear speakers at the back of my livingroom to compliment the soundbar system?

Hi the TV is KD-55X8509C and the soundbar is HT-CT380. Do I need to purchase a seprate amplifier and speaker system with subwoofer to connect to the speaker cables that have been wired around my livingroom to make this work and would that mean the sound bar would be redundant?

Thanks for the extra info. As you have a fixed speaker installation, an amplifier or receiver would indeed be the best solution (and yes, this would then make the soundbar redundant).
