TV Sideview with STR 1040 amp and android 6 device

Hi all,

I have a sony w905 tv and a STR 1040 amp. I used to have a nexus 5 running android 5 and tv sideview would find and add both devices fine.

I have changed to a nexus 5x running android 6, and tv sideview adds the TV fine, but the 1040 amp says registration failed. However on the amp screen it says successfully added, and i can see it in the tv sideview registered devices section in network options menu.

This is not a network issue as I can still stream upnp media to the amp etc and it does discover it.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

What version of SideView are you using? You shoukd be on verison 2.15 which was available from the 14th Oct.

Im assuming that you have tried removing the AV Reciever from SideView and tried to pair it back up again?

Hi,
This is running version 2.15. That version works fine on my Nexus 5, just
not on my Nexus 5x. Both running Android 6 Marshmallow.
I have removed all devices from TV Sideview on the amp and on the
application. The TV adds fine on both. It is just the amp.

There is definitely an app\nexus 5x issue, as the amp says registered
successfully, the app says failed.
