ht-gt1 soundbar light issue

I cant turn off the blue light illuminator on the speaker.

The power-off button on the remote places the system into standby, the blue light goes out then around 5-10 seconds later comes back on and randomly flashes.

If i turn the system off using the speaker illuminator button on the remote, the same thing happens.

I cant believe for one minute this is a design feature. Who on earth wants there room filled with blue neon light when no-one present?

Any advice on how i can prevent the blue light from coming and remaining on when the system is off/in standby?

The only way i can see is cut the power. Not ideal in its desired location.

Try pressing the 'display' button on the remote while in standby. It should disable the lights and the LCD.
