      <title>Flashing USB lbackights</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have just purchased LED backlights for my 40" Sony Bravia TV.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When plugged into either USB port the lights flash continually. This does not happen when plugged into other TV`s or a USB wall charger.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this something I can change?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Model no. KDL-40WE663. 12 months old still under 5 year warranty.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It has 2 USB ports but both result in the same flashing lights.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This does not happen in my other TV or when I plug the lights into a USB charger.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I wonder whether this is a fault or whether I can change something.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I don't doubt that, yet to me that sounds like the TV can barely supply the lowest level of power needed for the LEDs to function, so they alternate from being on to being off.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Maybe a "Y-cable" which draws power from both USB-ports and merges into one cable can fix this.&lt;/P&gt;

(Samsung and Logik).&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks again.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have now managed to visibly access the two USB ports.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;They each show 5v x 500mA whereas the LEDs specify 5v x 1 amp. No doubt this&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;is causing the flashing problem. I am looking at a Y adaptor to connect both USB sockets to the lights.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hopefully this will cure the problem.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
