Picture size doesn't match screen size

Hi; I have a Sony Bravia KDL - L4000 widescreen TV. It has been a good TV. But the picture projection got reset somehow. The transmitted picture is larger than the screen. The edges of picture get cutoff. Nothing in the Remote Menu for picture settings affects this. What to do? How to fix?

Thanks for posting Quinnicus; Much appreciated. That button mentioned at the very beginning of the article with a graphic and to be pressed repeatedly, I assume is on the remote. I think I have found it - seems to be straightforward. But, it doesn't do anything. No response. The closest I can get to the illustrations in your post is through MENU and the Screen sub menu. I've tried all the settings and nothing fixes the picture size being larger than the screen. ????? Flootus5

Yes, just to confirm, this button (20):

Ive just had a look at the manual again HERE, and cant see any other setting that would help to be honest. You could try resetting all picture settings to default to see if it works.
