Brightness and menu

I have a Sony LCD Projection TV model KDF-50E2000 or KDF-50E2010. For some time, the picture on it has been very dark, and I cannot make out any of it on night scenes, for example. I have tried going to the menu to adjust the brightness, but when I click on Settings, then Picture Adjustment, all that comes up is the first two categories, Picture Mode and Contrast. Whatever arrows I push on the remote, I cannot access the other categories including the Brightness one I need. Is anyone out there able to tell me if I am doing something wrong, or if this is a recognised fault, and if there is anything I can do about it. I'd be very obliged for any help or advice. Thank you.

Hi there

Sounds like you need a new lamp for your RPTV. See page 33 of the manual HERE.

Lamp model you need is: XL-2400

Thank you for your help. I've ordered a new lamp and will have a go
at fitting it -- it doesn't look TOO difficult!
