KDL-52Z5800 switching on and off

Hi!

I'm new here so apologies for my first post being similar to lots of other posts.

My wife has just called to say that our TV is switching on and off, going into some kind of recovery mode where the on light flashes.

This seems to be a common fault, but does anyone have a definitive answer on how to fix it? If it's firmware needing updated, how do I do so if I can't get the tv to switch (and stay) on? Should I unplug it from my Echostar Freeview receiver? Any other advice (other than to bin it and buy a Samsung)?

Hi there

Unplug all devices from the tv, including the aerial. Does it still turb itself off and on? If so, does the LED light 'blink'? How many blinks?

Hi,

I tried disconnecting everything, repowering, but no change.

On/off light initially goes green for a few seconds (but there us no sound of the TV powering up) and then reverts to a constant stream of red 2-blinks.

Any help would be gratefully received
