KD-49X8505B LED Blinks Red8 Times

Hi,

I bought this tv a month ago and noticed about a week ago that occasionally when i launched netflix and/or amazon the tv restarted itself which was no real problem other than having to sign in to amazon each time it restarted but the tv continued to work fine though.

However this morninig i tried to switch the tv on and the sony welcome screen appeared briefly but the tv would not come on and the led blinked red three times. i followed the advice in the manual for disconnecting th power etc but the same thing happened only the led now blinks 8 times. the tv is plugged directly into a wall socket and not a power strip etc so i have eliminated a problem with that. would anyone have any further advice please or do i need to return the tv?

Hi there

You will need to contact the retailer you purchased the TV from - this is because the blinking red light normally indicates a hardware fault with the TV itself.

So yes, your TV does need returning.
