SIM2 APN settings not saving

I am observing that on my M-dual phone, I am not able to save the APN settings on my SIM2. On SIM1 the Xperia automatic download works and settings get saved, but on SIM2 it does not work.

Also when I try to save the settings manually they also do not get saved on SIM2. What could be the issue?

First make sure that you have selected this SIM for data traffic under Settings -> Dual SIM settings. If that doesn't help, make sure that you enter the correct MNC and MCC in the APN. If you add an APN with wrong MNC and/or MCC it is saved but not displayed or used as it doesn't match the SIM-card.

I found the following observations to this problem:

It seems that the Xperia default application for downloading Internet settings works for SIM1 only. It you run it for SIM2 it runs for sometime but finally nothing happens, Internet does not work.

So what you need to do is insert your second SIM in SIM1 slot, run the Xperia Internet settings application, it will download the settings and Internet will start working on SIM1 . Once the phone has these settings, now if you Insert your second SIM back in the SIM2 slot, it will work. Though the APN settings menu will still show empty for SIM2, but Internet will work on SIM2.

SONY should take note of this issue.

Thanks for the feedback and glad to hear that you found a solution.

I'm not sure but this may perhaps be related to the network mode that's selected for SIM1/2. In case you should notice any more problems regarding this, try changing network mode for SIM2 under Settings -> More -> Mobile networks -> SIM2 and see if that helps.

I am also facing same issue. Already saved setting also gone sometimes and unable to save new one also. After restart old saved apn and come back. Please solve this problem.

Im also facing the problem mentioned above. Can't save the apn setting on sim 2 of my Xperia m dual. it is observed that Setting can be saved when only one sim is inserted in handset. Kindly fix it and provide the update.

I am also facing same problem with my Xperia M dual.

When I get seeting from the opertor, it is not getting saved. Even when I tried to set APN manualy there I am not able to save.

I am also not getting any service sms from the operator like balance inquiry sms, recharge related.

I have tried with other sim card also but the same problem.

There must be new software update resolving all these issues from Sony and keeping their brand reliable.
