Will anyone please help me? The TV just stopped working. We have tried to unplug and wait for a few minutes and then turn it on holding the switch on bottom, but nothing.

Sadly the warranty has expired already.
I know the electricity and plug are fine as we can feel the static on the tv (an issue Sony never correct even though we complained)

so I’ll say is not plug or electricity problem.
is there any way to restart it again?

Here are some steps you can try to Force Reset your TV:

If the TV is unresponsive, press and hold the power button on the TV while plugging it back in. Continue holding the button until a white LED light appears near the front Sony logo (approximately 10-30 seconds), then release the button: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00274122?link-header
